Real Wedding GiftsWooden Serving Dishes

The warm weather has definitely arrived and we know what that means…WEDDING SEASON! We do not subscribe to the current trend of giving monetary gifts. Those little white envelopes are all the same, but your gift should stand out! There's no better place than Granny Taught Us How & Heidi's Room for unique gifts that will be remembered and cherished by the happy couple for years to come.

For example, a new line of service and display items we found combines wood and metal alloy to make exquisite pieces that make a statement all on their own. What you serve in and on them will be secondary! Sleek and fluid shapes and inspired design features define this collection, which includes cheese trays, coasters, pitchers, serving bowls and platters, S&P shakers, vases, candle sticks and more. Descriptions don't do justice to the beauty and quality of these pieces - perfect for wedding gifts.

BurnersGreat Father’s Day Ideas

(Ok dads, send this part over to the moms and kids.)

We're all a little bit of a Daddy's Girl, and we want to celebrate all the dads out there this June 19th.

This year, show dad that you finally "get him", and you're sorry about all the ties.

Here are some great ideas for the fathers on your list:

Guys like cars.

We have an attractive collection of hand-carved, wooden replicas of antique automobiles, bikes and machinery with a smooth, matte finish. It's not Hot Wheels, but it'll look much nicer on your mantel.

Wooden Bike

Guys like fire.

Jazz up the deck with our new fire burners in styles that are not girly in the least!
We also have a very sleek indoor/outdoor fireplace that he can sit and watch for hours.

Burners

Guys like food.

Beauty Burger

For the backyard chef, enhance his grilling experience with an assortment of BBQ spices and marinades, and gadgets like our beercan chicken kit, fajita pan, wok and brie baker, all for use on the barbeque.

Beer Can Chicken

Guys like metal and the great outdoors.

We have a great selection of items to embellish the garden, including:

  • metal heron scriptures
  • ornamental stakes - some with glow-in-the-dark orbs for night interest
  • very manly cut steel tree stands and flower stakes
  • hand-blown glass hummingbird feeders with mounting brackets and hangers

Rosemary Armstrong BreezesRosemary Armstrong and Ken Hall

We are pleased to showcase these two Dufferin County artists for the months of June and July:

ROSEMARY ARMSTRONG is primarily a painter of realism - her paintings often also tend toward impressionism, exuding a sense of mystery and timelessness, executed with passion, colour and light.

KEN HALL creates fine Art and Architectural Sculpture in wood, stone and steel. His unique style of stonework blends carving and painting onto specially selected pieces of stone resulting in vibrant and life-like art, yet which retain the rugged, natural sense of the medium.

CaldreaNot a gift!

We all know that it’s a big no-no to give cleaning products as gifts, so this part is definitely NOT for Father’s Day! But even he would appreciate our new line of eco-friendly and very capable household cleaning products.

Caldrea uses the finest plant-derived ingredients and essential oils to provide natural freshness and cleaning potency. These products are highly effective, consistently earth-friendly, and an absolute pleasure to use.

Not tested on animals.
This is cleaning with a conscience!
