Cool weather and warm colours
Well friends, the heat has broken, the kids are back to school and the fair circuit is in full swing. You know what that means…the change of the season is upon us. It’s a favourite time of year for us and our many customers who look forward to the Autumn colours. As the trees begin their annual transformation, our region becomes a popular destination for leaf-watchers from all over, taking in the breathtaking vistas offered by the escarpment and our rolling hills.
Setting the harvest table
 At Mrs. Mitchell’s, the wheels are in motion for a busy season of Autumn colours tours. We book up fast while the leaves are turning, especially for Thanksgiving weekend, which is coming up on October 8th this year. So book your table now and don’t miss out on the brief but beautiful opportunity to join us during this magnificent time of year.
Also for the harvest table, and speaking of season-ings, we are adding some sensational new items to our menu, starting in mid October. Come see what surprises our industrious Chef has prepared for you from our kitchen.

The colours are changing indoors too! At Granny Taught Us How and Heidi’s Room our Fall displays will give you that warm, fuzzy feeling and have you eager for a drop in the mercury.

As the air gets crisp outside, cozy up inside with throws and pillows in rich browns and reds, the warm textures of fine wools and soft alpaca, lots of Fall-inspired home décor items and seasonal scents.

Take our newest addition from Thymes collection for example. Lotus Santal is a gorgeous woody-dominant fragrance with sultry, exotic and spicy notes that you’ll just want to wrap yourself in. We now carry this scent in hand soap and lotion, body wash and more…you should try it!

 Nothing says warmth and peace like candles, and nothing says fire hazard like a real, live flame. So ditch the danger and stock up on our flameless candles, the best thing since actual fire. Yes, they’re back and we’re well stocked…for now! Don’t wait and be disappointed, looking for the perfect size for your pillar holder, lantern or table centerpiece? Now’s the time to buy. They’re also great as gifts.
If you haven’t seen these yet they’ll fool you. With its genuine candle wax casing and unique random flickering “flame”, this is the most realistic faux candle on the market. Store hours change
A final note of business, weekend store hours will be changing slightly next month. Beginning on October 1st, Granny Taught Us How and Heidi’s Room will be open from 10am to 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Weekdays remain the same, 10am to 6pm, Sunday to Thursday.
Not a big change, but we thought you should know.
